This Privacy Policy describes how Dividends Wellness LLC ("Dividends," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Dividends mobile application (the "App"). This policy applies only to the App. Our website (dividendswellness.com and dividendsmen.com) has a separate privacy policy governing website activity.

1. Who We Are

Dividends Wellness LLC is a Connecticut limited liability company operating the Dividends men's skincare brand and the Dividends mobile application. You can contact us at support@dividendswellness.com.

2. Age Requirement

The App is intended for users 17 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 17. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at support@dividendswellness.com and we will delete the account and associated data.

3. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the App:

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored encrypted).

Skincare profile information. During onboarding and ongoing use, we collect information you provide about your skin: skin type, skin goals, prior retinol experience, and the date you began your current routine.

Routine activity. We log the skincare steps you complete each day (cleanser, retinol, moisturizer, sunscreen) and the time of day (AM or PM).

Check-in responses. When you complete a check-in, we collect your self-reported ratings of skin signals (irritation, dryness, breakouts, hydration), overall feel, and any symptoms you select.

Photos. If you choose to take progress photos, those photos are stored privately in your account. Photos are not shared with other users. You can delete any photo at any time from within the App.

Push notification preferences. If you enable push notifications, we store the notification token associated with your device so we can send reminders.

Device and diagnostic information. We may collect basic device information (operating system, app version, language) and anonymous diagnostic data to help us fix crashes and improve the App.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the core functionality of the App, including tracking your routine, generating a personalized skin score, and surfacing reminders.
  • Generate personalized insights and guidance using AI (see Section 6).
  • Send transactional and marketing emails (see Section 7).
  • Improve the App by analyzing aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
  • Respond to your support inquiries.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

5. How We Store and Secure Your Information

Your data is stored using Supabase, a third-party database and authentication provider. Photos are stored in private, access-controlled cloud storage. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Row-level security rules ensure that one user cannot access another user's data.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. AI Processing

The App uses AI (Anthropic's Claude) to generate personalized skincare guidance, analyze check-in responses, and provide insights on progress photos. When you use a feature that involves AI, the relevant information (your check-in data, photo, or question to the Advisor) is sent to Anthropic's API via a secure server-side proxy. Anthropic does not use your data to train its models.

7. Email Marketing

If you sign up for the App, you may receive transactional emails (welcome, weekly progress reports, reminders) sent via Klaviyo. These are essential to the service. You can also opt into marketing emails about Dividends products and content. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email.

8. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only with the following third parties, and only as needed to operate the App:

  • Supabase (database and authentication)
  • Anthropic (AI processing, as described in Section 6)
  • Klaviyo (transactional and marketing email)
  • Apple (app delivery and in-app purchase if applicable)

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or sale of assets).

9. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your information:

  • Access. Contact us at support@dividendswellness.com to request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Delete. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete account). This removes your account from our authentication system, deletes your profile, routine logs, check-ins, and photos from our database, and cannot be undone.
  • Correct. You can update your skincare profile information from within the App.
  • Opt out of marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

10. Data Retention

We retain your information as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data promptly, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or security reasons.

11. Children

The App is not directed to children under 17. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 17. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

12. International Users

The App is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent version.
